Moldova 2006

 

In December 2006 a regional meeting for Central Asia and Eastern Europe took place in Kishinev. It was co-organized by the UNESCO Chair in Southeast European Studies, State University of Moldova, and the Bureau de liaison of the Coordination office of UNITWIN/UNESCO Chairs (Fribourg) at the Moldavian Academy of Sciences. This meeting was dedicated to the theme Globalization and cultural identity. It became clear how much globalization affects cultural identity and makes real intercultural dialogue and understanding difficult. This assertion may be another important discussion point in the framework of methodology for intercultural dialogue and understanding.
